Did you know great dreams can inspire amazing action adventure stories?

Dream chasing is not for weak hearted but for the determined By Dale Spencer, @DaleSpencerwork

“I confess…I’ve had an epic dream and I can’t stop writing about it.”–Dale Spencer

My writing started with an unforgettable dream, a rare dream type I’ve experienced once. What is this dream you ask? Well, it goes by many names. You could call it a cosmic dream, epic dream, great dream, numinous dream, vivid dream, etc. For now, let’s call it an epic dream because it’s the most common name, and it sounds adventurous. According to Webster’s Dictionary, the word “epic” can be defined as, “extending beyond the usual or ordinary especially in size or scope.” And the word “dream” can be defined as “a series of thoughts, images, or emotions occurring during sleep.”  When I researched the epic dream terminology, I learned that it’s considered a sleep disorder. The Minneapolis Medical Research Foundation states, “epic dreaming [is] a condition where patients report having extremely vivid dreams throughout the night typically involving constant activity.” Keep in mind that anything that’s not considered “normal” is a disorder, so don’t worry if you do have this type of dream. It’s normal to have one of them. According to Dream Dictionary, “Most case studies have showed us that everybody on earth will experience at least one or more epic type dreams in his/her life span.” So take my advice: if you have an epic dream, try your best to write out everything you remember. They make good stories to share.

 My Great Dream Experience
This is what happened with my epic dream. One weekend night, I went to bed late. While I was sleeping, my dream involved people I didn’t know and it flowed like an action adventure movie. I started dreaming about teen siblings, who are hunted down by individuals who want them dead but, they do not understand why. There’s a lot of suspense and mystery around their story, and they end up far from home, going on a journey. Together they search for answers, a way home, and various items needed to fulfill their quest. – Take it from me: I can go on forever about this story. I’ve written most of it down and the rest of it is still reoccurring in my head. During the duration of my ten-hour sleep, this dream consisted of multiple dreams. When I woke up, I felt energized and amazing. It’s an indescribable feeling. I couldn’t stop thinking about it all day. After much consideration, I decided to label it as a Sci-Fi/Fantasy story. I did not realize that it was three books long until I wrote down half of the first book. Was this experience epic for me? The answer is a solid yes.

Have you ever had one of these dreams before? If so, please share it. I’m curious to know what others have experienced.

When Tasha Hoggatt brother passed away, it was the hardest and the most difficult experience she had to overcome. As an experience that shaped her life on many levels, Hoggatt has a unique perspective on others experiencing similar plight. ‘What Makes You Great?’ is more than a self-help book; it’s a blueprint to living the fullest life possible, even when darkness overshadows all light.

    Synopsis:

The goal of the book is to inspire others who can create an opportunity for themselves, to follow their dreams. Please read this book often to help you stay focused. In this life, we do not have the luxury to live to 500 years old. We are lucky to live to 90. With that said, we should make every second, minute, hour, day, week, month and year count. It is important to always move in the direction that will bring you closer to realizing your dreams and living a positive life.

Avoid emotionally and mentally negative situations and thought patterns, so you can make the best out of your life and others around you. Put your family first building a foundation of love and respect. A family is a group of individuals living under the same roof, united by certain convictions and common affiliation, the basic and various social units in society. A unit that should be valued!

As the author explains, while her own life experiences seemed unique, she became acutely aware that everyone suffers their own personal times of need.

“I wrote the book, What Makes You Great? because I have seen both friends and family due to difficult experience lose faith in themselves. In turn, they give up on their dream and put aside many of the aspirations that will make their life better aside. Our dreams are the blueprint of our life that we need to pursue. It gives us confidence in our ability to achieve anything,” says Hoggatt.

Continuing, “The book is broken up in in seven sections. It is an easy read. It is important because at one point, we all lose our faith or at least are dangling. It is great to have a guide or an avenue so to stay on track. It is important to pursue dreams. It is good for our souls, humanity, each other, our relationship and the world. Love, respect and peace.”

Since its release, the book has garnered a string of rave reviews, over 7,500 copies old. For example, one reader commented that, “This is a must read!! If you are looking for something uplifting this is the book for you! I’m really glad I came across this great book. It definitely gives you a new found perspective on life.” Another reader stated, “I like the chapter on the importance of association and negative vs. positive thinking. This book can be considered a mental detox.”
